The vessel is characterized by its wide, flared rim that tapers gracefully into a short neck, opening into a bulbous, compressed globular body supported by a low, recessed foot ring. This classic form, which gained popularity during the Ming and Qing dynasties, is finished with a smooth, glossy glaze that exhibits subtle variations in tone under the light.

The underside reveals a white-glazed base featuring a six-character underglaze blue mark within a double ring, reading "Da Ming Wanli Nian Zhi" (Made during the Wanli Reign of the Great Ming). While the form and mark reference the Wanli period, the specific tonal quality of the brown glaze and the porcelain body are frequently seen in high-quality 19th-century or later tribute pieces.
