A modern aquatint etching print on Arches paper titled "Cabeza en Amarillo (Head in Yellow)" by Rufino Tamayo. Hand signed in pencil on the lower right with an annotation of 61/75 on the lower left. Published in 1976. The composition distills the human face into bold, geometric planes, merging pre-Columbian influence with modern abstraction. The textured surface brings sculptural depth to the flat plane, emphasizing the earthy green form against a soft, luminous background. The stylized head is framed by a golden yellow arc, suggesting both a halo and ceremonial adornment, while the mask-like facial features evoke timeless archetypes. It exemplifies Tamayo's mastery in blending cultural heritage with 20th-century modernism, offering a striking and contemplative portrait that is at once ancient and contemporary. From a private collection. Dimensions: 31"h x 24.25"w x 1"d (framed). In very good vintage condition. Full condition reports are available upon request.
