An antique French copper cooking pot with a forged iron carrying handle for suspending over the fire, dating to the second half of the 19th century. The exterior has a beautiful patina, darkened and textured by time and use, accented with blooms of turquoise verdigris. Look closely to see the incredible skill required in joining the iron belt & swing handle to the copper cauldron. The substantial pot could be used for an attractive catchall around the home and hearth, as a planter, or simply to admire this culinary relic - its aged finish will only improve with time.
