It is an exceptionally ornate piece, with the marking JM 18B 1 on its reverse side. The Jennings Brothers (J.B.) JM18B is a highly recognizable antique inkwell, often featuring an ornate Art Nouveau or fleur-de-lis style design, dating back to the late 1890s or early 1900s The cast iron remains in excellent antique condition. The inkwell features a beautifully ornate cast iron top and a well that appears to be either pewter or tin. This substantial piece measures approximately 6 3/4” by 6 3/4”. Such inkwells are rare, and examples of this kind are seldom found on the market.
