Created in 2023, the sculpture explores the relationship between organic geometric form, negative space, and the natural character of wood. A sweeping walnut form surrounds an open central space, creating a strong sculptural silhouette while allowing the grain and tonal variation of the wood to remain an integral part of the composition.

The sculpture is elevated above a solid oak base on a brass support, giving the substantial wood form an unexpected sense of lightness and creating the appearance that it is floating above the base.

Designed in the spirit of mid-century modern and Scandinavian design, the piece reflects Milwerk's emphasis on simplified forms, careful proportions, natural materials, and hand craftsmanship.

Each sculpture is individually shaped, sanded, and finished by hand in Milwerk's Arkansas studio. The natural variations in the walnut and oak ensure that each example has its own individual character.

An understated sculptural accent for a credenza, console, bookshelf, desk, or display pedestal, particularly suited to mid-century modern, Scandinavian, organic modern, and contemporary interiors.
