Late 19th-century English sporting lithograph depicting Belvoir Dexter (1885), rendered after the work of British animal painter G.H. Burgess. The hound is shown in full profile, poised and alert, tail lifted, coat finely detailed in rich chestnut, black, and white against an architectural backdrop.
The composition reflects the Victorian fascination with pedigree sporting dogs and formal breed portraiture. Strong period coloration and crisp printed detail capture both the athletic structure and disciplined elegance of the breed — hallmarks of late 19th-century British kennel portraiture.
