Here is a great vintage hammered brass stool, likely made in the 1970s. This piece features a sculptural X-form base with hourglass shape, riveted banding and a textured hammered brass top. It's incredibly versatile as a stool, accent piece, pedestal, or even a small side table. The aged brass finish shows a nice amount of patina, giving it depth and character.
The design has a similar feel to pieces by Sarried Ltd. and also calls to mind the sculptural metalwork seen in Moroccan and Indian design, with an emphasis on texture and bold, architectural form.
