About the Artist
Bjørn Ransve (b. 1944, Oslo) is one of Norway’s most respected contemporary painters and graphic artists. He studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry and the Academy of Fine Art in Oslo, debuting in 1968.
Ransve is known for his wide-ranging style, often shifting between figurative and abstract forms. His works frequently explore existential themes—life, identity, and the human condition—through imagery that can be both beautiful and unsettling.
His art is held in major collections, including the National Museum of Norway, and he has exhibited extensively throughout Scandinavia.
