This rare piece comes from the estate of the former Vice President of Operations at Frederic Edward, who was directly involved in the brand’s earliest licensing and production phases, prior to its acquisition by Masco and the subsequent integration of Henredon and Drexel Heritage into Ralph Lauren’s furniture program. This chair is the original prototype submitted for approval, with later production modifications including adjustments to the arm proportions and the introduction of bullion-style feet. As such, it stands as a highly significant piece within the evolution of the design. Acquired as part of a larger group of original Ralph Lauren pieces from the same estate, this chair is presented alongside a selection of those works to further illustrate its provenance and context within the collection.
