Vintage set of five solid brass Chinese auspicious wall symbols and or tricots likely Hong Kong export, mid-20th century to 1970s/1980s.
Each character represents a traditional blessing associated with prosperity, longevity, happiness, and good fortune.
The set includes:
• Double Happiness (囍) – joyful union, marriage, harmony
• Longevity (壽) – long life
• Fortune (福) – blessing and luck
• Prosperity (祿) – wealth and abundance
Sizes:
2 large ones about 6.5” w x 7.5” h
Small double Happiness: 5x5.5”
2 small rounds: 4.5” x 4.5”
Beautiful mixed forms include both framed and openwork characters, making the grouping visually interesting when displayed together as wall décor. These pieces have a warm aged brass patina with oxidation, verdigris, and surface wear consistent with age, which adds to their vintage character.
