A mid to late 19th century Venetian Blackamoor Table, the hand-painted top with floral and rococo designs and a gilded … Read more A mid to late 19th century Venetian Blackamoor Table, the hand-painted top with floral and rococo designs and a gilded skirt with hand-painted floral design supported by a Blackamoor in an extravagant costume with highly-detailed designs rendered in metallic paints, all resting on a gilded rococo tripod base decorated with hand-painted floral motifs. The construction is gesso over wood and there are minor losses and shrinkage cracks throughout, to be expected in a sculptural piece of this age, but it is sturdy and ready to place. Also, what looks like an old repair to the arm. A rare survivor of 19th century Venice. See less
