It is a centuries old a sign of good luck or fortune. This calico cat is an early to mid 20th century hand-made porcelain piece which is not as kitschy as some of the newer ones. It depicts the traditional sitting Maneki-neko with a coin hanging from its collar. Note that the piece is not marked so exact age and maker are not known. See less
