Manufactured by den boer gouda, (netherlands), circa 1950. Laminated birchwood plywood and original upholstery. Materials: wood upholstery measurements: chair: 70 h 44 w 33 d stool: 43 h 40 ø in good original condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Cornelius louis (cor) alons (1892-1967) was a dutch interior and industrial designer. He studied at the minerva academy in groningen (1911-1913) and the royal academy of art in the hague (1913-1917). Went after his training to work as an interior designer at the firm h. Pander & zn. He designed furniture, bookplate, interiors and stained-glass windows. He was among the first generation of interior designers. Designed not only furniture, but also looked at where the furniture was placed in the room. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
