A traditional Tonalá, Jalisco water jug formed in warm buff earthenware and hand-painted with stylized bird and floral motifs in cobalt, olive, and russet tones. The classic cup-as-lid form, known as jarra con vaso, reflects centuries-old Mexican utilitarian design where the drinking cup nests securely over the mouth of the vessel.
Subtle burnishing and rhythmic brushwork give the surface a soft, tactile presence while the fully glazed interior allows the piece to function as an actual water container. Generous in scale and visually graphic, this jug bridges folk craft and sculptural display, bringing regional Mexican pottery tradition to the table or shelf with authentic workshop character.
