The hand painted scene could be interpreted as a dark blue river which is followed by a lighter blue stream, surrounding a beautiful island, enhanced with bamboo leaves. The rim is enhanced with a brown stripe. Made of pottery, this glossy finish platter is handmade in Japan and showcases mid century Asian style. This one-of-a-kind piece can be used to serve sushi or could be artistically hung graciously on the wall. Backstamp: there is no backstamp or artist's signature. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Diameter side to side=13 inches, Height from edge of platter to table=2 inches. This marvelous Japanese glazed ceramic platter has been well cared for, gently used and is in excellent vintage condition, free from chips, cracks, crazing and other imperfections. See less
