The jug is crafted from hammered metal, likely copper or a copper-alloy, with a rich, darkened surface and areas of natural oxidation developed over time. The body is rounded and weighty, with visible hammer marks throughout that give the surface a tactile, almost sculptural quality. A gently flared neck leads to a wide opening measuring approximately 6.5 inches in diameter, making the vessel versatile for decorative use, storage, or as a planter. The neck is accented with concentric turned detailing, adding visual structure and contrast to the more freely hammered lower body. A forged ring handle is mounted at the shoulder, attached through a pierced lug, reinforcing the utilitarian origins of the piece. The surface displays layered tones of deep brown, blackened copper, and subtle verdigris, all consistent with age and long-term use. The base is flat and stable, showing wear and patina from contact with hard surfaces. An honest, utilitarian object with strong decorative appeal, well suited to rustic, wabi-sabi, or globally inspired interiors. This piece works equally well as a standalone sculptural accent or repurposed as a planter or container, embracing its visible history and handcrafted character.
