This antique Indian brass bird cage is distinguished by its graceful Montgolfière, or hot air balloon, form and finely cast details. Slender vertical bars rise into a domed top with suspension loop, while the base rests on four ornate pierced feet with scrolling foliate motifs. The craftsmanship balances lightness and strength, giving the cage an elegant architectural presence. Within, a central perch and two small feeding bowls remain, alongside the original hinged door with ring latch. The brass has acquired a time-worn patina, softening its surface and adding depth of character.
