As with architecture from the Neoclassical period, these chests of drawers have flawless balance as a result of the calculated proportions. Notice how the four tapering legs, known as estipites, resemble inverted Egyptian obelisks or Greek columns.

Hand-painted in beige, the palette also features accents of gray and white, designed to accentuate the carved motifs, specifically the row of crenellation beneath the overhanging quarter-round top. The top drawer has added texture as a result of the horizontal fluting, which, interestingly, differs from the two drawers beneath. These lower drawers have hand-painted facades of a rectangle with angular canted corners. All three drawers have a pair of rosette pulls with a central lozenge keyplate. The rosette motif is replicated a few more times in the form of carvings on the outer facet of the square joineries of the legs, as well as the upper portion of the pilaster sides, which are set at an angle, giving the rectilinear chests of drawers a more angular appearance.
