The 2 paneled cabinet doors open to an … Read more Rare antique American Victorian walnut MINIATURE or child size step back cupboard. The 2 paneled cabinet doors open to an interior with 1 shelf. There is a single dovetailed drawer above this retaining the original brass ring pulls. There is a small open area above which are 2 glazed doors with a single stationary shelf. Cupboard is entirely original including the original finish which shows some rings probably from water. Mostly on the interior and 1 ring on the left side of the middle open shelf. The outside of the right rear foot is missing and has been for a long time. This can be seen in the last photo. I like the paneled ends of the cupboard. This was not made at home by an amateur but obviously from a cabinetmaker or furniture factory about 1870-1890. Lovely quality. Piece stands only 35 1/4" tall total and 25 1/4" at the widest point(the top molding) and is 11" deep at the middle shelf. Remember this is not a full size cupboard! This is a miniature or salesman sample or made for some very well to do children! Original key included! See less
