This example dates to the 1990s and features the hallmark three-cushion design with rich black leather upholstery and a matching back silhouette that combines ergonomic support with unmistakable style.

The seat rotates on a sturdy five-star black powder coated aluminum base and retains the original black powder coated aluminum cast frame with sculptural black powder-coated armrests. The chair is date stamped (1992) and retains its original manufacturing tag, confirming its vintage authenticity.

A more plush variation of the famous Aluminum Group, and similar in comfort to the Time Life chair, also by Ray and Charles Eames, the Soft-Pad management office chair offers timeless appeal, equally suited for executive offices or design-forward interiors. Ideal as a lounge armchair or guest chair / lobby chair. Also great as a executive or management desk arm chair or solo statement chair / easy chair.

CONDITION:
Overall good vintage condition ready for immediate use. Age appropriate light to moderate wear and patina throughout. Scuffs, scratches and markings to leather and to frames. The top lifts off of the base when you lift it up which is common with the Soft Pad model. Color is considered black on black, however the frames match more closely to "charcoal gray" than a pure black. See less
