There is something wonderfully particular about a cricket table — a form born out of practicality, yet unmistakably charming in its design. This 19th century English pine example is a beautiful reflection of that tradition.
The octagonal top sits gracefully above three legs, a structure that is not simply aesthetic but intentional. The triangular formation of the legs gives the table its natural stability — a design that allowed it to sit firmly even on the uneven stone floors of country homes. Below, a lower triangular shelf echoes this geometry, offering both additional function and a pleasing sense of balance.
The pine itself is what truly draws you in. Its surface shows an incredibly beautiful wear and patina, the kind that can only be earned through years of daily use — softened edges, subtle variations in tone, and a warmth that feels both tactile and visual.
Perfectly scaled at 20" diameter and 31.5" in height, it is a wonderfully versatile piece — equally at home beside a chair, used as a drinks table, or standing quietly on its own.
Cricket tables have become increasingly rare, their simple yet ingenious construction often lost to time. To find one with this level of wear and character is something special.
Hand selected in England and imported with care, this is a piece that carries both the ingenuity and quiet beauty of English country furniture — practical, enduring, and deeply rooted in place.
