Circa 1830s papier mache Lafayette portrait snuff box, American or French. Transfer print portrait of Lafayette among the clouds "Lafayette, Général en Chief de la Garde Nationale". Minor losses particularly along the border. Black lacquer over papier mache. Made in both America & France to celebrate the General, this one likely made around 1834 commemorating his death as the portrait is of a mature Lafayette.
