Vintage French seltzer bottle from Brasserie Ledoux in Allennes, France, dating to the circa 1920s. The bottle is etched with the inscription:
“Brasserie Ledoux Allennes: Vins et Liqueurs – Sirops et Eaux Gazeuses”
which translates to “Brewery Ledoux in Allennes, France: Wines and Liqueurs – Syrups and Sparkling Water.”
Seltzer bottles were designed to dispense carbonated water while maintaining internal pressure, allowing the remaining contents to stay carbonated rather than going flat. These bottles were at the height of their popularity during the 1920s and 1930s.
The vibrant colored glass and etched lettering make this bottle a wonderful decorative object, well suited for display in a kitchen, bar, or collection of vintage barware.
