The Shaped Oddity Zigzag Chair pays tribute to Gerrit Rietveld's influential 1934 Zig-Zag design. Our interpretation combines handwoven natural rattan with a hardened steel frame—a material pairing that honors De Stijl principles while exploring new possibilities in sustainable seating.

Design and Construction:
Rietveld's original Zig-Zag was notable for its cantilevered form and geometric precision. Our version preserves that distinctive Z-shaped silhouette while introducing a different material approach: warm rattan woven over precision-engineered steel. About the Original Design:
Gerrit Rietveld (1888-1964) was a Dutch furniture designer and architect associated with the De Stijl movement. His Zig-Zag chair, created in 1934, explored structural innovation through pure geometric form.
