These sets were … Read more This item is an antique Victorian cranberry glass cruet set, typically used as a tabletop condiment caddy. These sets were popular in the late 1800s and early 1900s for serving essential dining table liquids like oil and vinegar, alongside spices or sauces. It is unusual to find these colored glass sets in such good condition, with all the pieces. All the lids and stoppers with no damage. Amazing! To make this beautiful cranberry colored glass they would add gold oxide to molten glass. You see many more clear glass examples than the color. There are 2 bottles for oil and vinegar with original stoppers, and 2 condiment jars with lids, and the holder. Faceted stoppers of this age , well over 100 years old usually have wear on them, these don't. The condition of this set is stunning. See less
