The two delightful putti are depicted in playful poses and were commonly used in Italy as elegant bedside or vanity ring holders. Their whimsical design makes them both practical and decorative objects, ideal for displaying rings or small jewelry. According to the impressed mark on the base, the figures were produced in Germany between the 1950s and 1960s. The manufacturer remains unidentified. The mark consists of the letter “N” surmounted by a royal crown, a symbol that has been used by several German porcelain manufacturers as well as by the Italian Capodimonte workshops, which makes a precise attribution difficult. Both cherubs are in very good condition and free from chips or damage. One putto is shown attempting a handstand, while the other appears to have tumbled to the ground while trying the same feat, creating a lively and humorous scene. These charming Mid-Century porcelain putti are perfect as ring holders, vanity accessories, or decorative display pieces, and would look particularly striking in the showcase of an unusual or characterful jewelry store. Putto lying down: Width: 9 cm (3.54 in) Depth: 5 cm (1.97 in) Height: 4 cm (1.57 in) Putto performing a handstand: Width: 6 cm (2.36 in) Depth: 3.5 cm (1.38 in) Height: 8 cm (3.15 in) Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions.
