The cast-iron sides are stamped "BAKER, PRATT & CO. N.Y." on one arm and "REIS'D Feb. 21.71" on the other, confirming the original 1871 patented design.

• Solid cast-iron ends with ornate scrollwork arms • Wood plank seat & back with patina
• Decorative iron crest with original number plate ("10")
• ~50-inch length, perfect for entryways

These benches were used in late-19th-century schoolrooms for recitations and classroom seating and increasingly rare nowadays, especially with complete ironwork and legible maker's marks. See less
