These two chairs present beautifully. The walnut veneer frames carry a rich, warm patina — deep and honeyed in tone, with the natural variation that comes from sixty-plus years of aging. Label on the underside is consistent with early 1960s production. Black leather seat pads original to the chairs and in very good shape. Structurally sound throughout. Unrestored and in good condition.

A single continuous sweep of bent walnut plywood forming seat, back, and arms in one fluid gesture. The chair that launched a lawsuit, a legend, and one of the most iconic images in American design history — Norman Rockwell featured it on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post in 1961.
