A visually dynamic Op Art composition by renowned artist Yaacov Agam ( Israel -b. 1928) , a pioneer of kinetic and optical art. The work features bold geometric forms and rhythmic vertical line structures that create a shifting, kinetic visual effect, engaging the viewer through movement and perception.
Executed in a refined palette of deep blue, red, and white, the composition transforms as the viewing angle changes—an effect central to Agam’s practice. His work explores time, motion, and visual transformation, positioning the viewer as an active participant in the experience.
Rooted in the Op Art movement and geometric abstraction, this piece exemplifies Agam’s signature approach to optical vibration and spatial interplay, making it both intellectually compelling and highly decorative.
The work is hand signed by the artist in Hebrew and numbered 4/25 HC (Hors Commerce), indicating it is an artist’s proof outside the standard edition. Such proofs are produced in limited quantities and are often more desirable among collectors.
Presented in an elegant gilt frame with archival matting, this piece offers a striking combination of visual impact and collectible significance—ideal for modern interiors and collectors of Op Art and postwar abstraction.

About the artist :
Yaacov Agam (b.1928) is an Israeli artist and a pioneering figure in kinetic and optical art. Born in Rishon LeZion, Israel, Agam studied at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem before continuing his education in Zurich and Paris, where he became associated with leading postwar avant-garde movements.
Agam is best known for his exploration of movement, transformation, and viewer participation. His works—ranging from paintings and prints to large-scale public installations—are designed to change depending on the viewer’s perspective, creating a dynamic and interactive visual experience.
A key contributor to the development of Op Art and kinetic art, Agam’s practice emphasizes time, motion, and variability, challenging the notion of a fixed image. His works are held in major international collections, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, and have been exhibited worldwide.
