This is an antique, hand-carved tobacco pipe featuring a miniature bear on the shank and a textured bowl. Similar pipes are often associated with German Black Forest folk art, a style of intricate wood carving that frequently depicts forest animals. These were made in Switzerland from 1880-1920 out of one piece of wood. This has Swizerne on the bowl of the pipe. It means Swiss made. Good for pipe collectors or Black Forest collectors.
Material: Carved wood, likely briar or similar hardwood.
