Edgar DEGAS (1834-1917) girl with blond hair Original etching (etching and aquatint) after a monotype On Rives vellum 25 x 32 cm INFORMATION: Around 1880, Degas began a series of monotypes inspired by Parisian brothels. These works remain in his personal collection and are bought at the beginning of the years 20 by Ambroise Vollard (the famous dealer of Picasso, Cézanne, Renoir or even Georges Rouault). He entrusts them to Maurice Potin who puts them on copper and makes the print. Vollard publishes them finally around 1935 in two portfolios of about 350 copies. The proposed engraving comes from the archives of the engraver Maurice Potin. Excellent condition This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
