The mirror has a 1" … Read more An Art Deco inspired jet black tessellated marble stonewall mirror with spokes of inlaid brass. The mirror has a 1" bevel that follows the inside of the racetrack shaped frame. The bold 2" deep by 3.5" wide post-modern style round edged frame is attached to a wood back plate that has a cut out which accommodates the precise placement of the mirror which is secured by metal hardware brackets with one on each of its four sides. There is a secure hanging wire that is placed on the verso for the purpose of hanging this wall mirror in the profile or vertical position although it could easily be modified to accommodate the mirror for a horizontal position. There is no makers mark or country of origin noted but our research attributes the sophisticated decorative looking glass to the curatorial importing skills of Maitland-Smith due to the similarities in materials and style as evidenced from those commissioned in Cebu Philippines for the company They are reputed for their importation and design of a plethora if tessellated materials for frames, furniture and decorative home goods. However, due to so many similarities to his work with tessellated stone, credit could be given to the work of designer, Karl Springer.

Please note that the materials used are naturally dense in weight and by volume. this mirror weighs approximately 75 lbs. Installation by a professional is recommended. See less
