Design Plus Gallery presents Novella, a Sculpture by Richard Erdman. Erdman is a WORLD renowned contemporary abstract sculptor known for his work in marble and bronze. Erdman’s sculptures are recognized for their curves and dialogue with natural phenomena, continuing the modernist tradition of masters like Noguchi, Hepworth, and Moore. Like Noguchi, Erdman has spent over 40 years working in the quarries of Carrara and Pietrasanta, Italy where the red marble and green marble base were sourced. The sculpture separates and is held together with a solid bronze rod. Novella was commission by the original and only owner thus far in 1998. The sculpture has the artists signature with the date. This is a rare and exceptional find for a collector to have in their garden, front lawn, and is fit for an astute estate.
