A beautiful and generously scaled Chinese porcelain bowl featuring a classic Chinoiserie figural scene at the center. The hand-decorated interior depicts elegantly dressed figures in a garden setting, surrounded by a richly patterned border of vibrant florals and scrolling motifs in pink, gold, and yellow.
The bowl’s scalloped cartouche framing the central scene and its intricate border decoration are hallmarks of traditional Chinese export designs that later inspired Western Chinoiserie interiors.
At 13.25 inches in diameter, this is an unusually large example—making it ideal as a centerpiece bowl, decorative accent on a console or coffee table, or displayed upright in a plate stand.
