Known as the "New York Spanish Mirror", the mirror has been brilliantly carved in the baroque taste. The large weathered frame features scrolled acanthus and flowers with shell rocaille on each top corner. The dramatic crest is centered by a prominent carved flower above scrolling accents. The lower apron anchors the composition with shells and scrolling foliage. The wood has an antique bleached finish with a heavily distressed patina to display age. The mirror has a dramatic presence with deep, boldly carved relief. Very heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Statement mirror perfect for an entry or foyer. The piece delivers immense scale and atmosphere, blending Baroque, Rococo, Coastal, and California Romantic styles.
