Found in France, this pair of rattan armchairs date from the 1950s. Dark-stained rattan frames with elegantly curved armrests enclose herringbone-woven wicker panels across the backs, sides, and aprons — a level of weaving detail rarely seen in later production pieces. The barrel-shaped form and sculptural arms suggest quality French or Continental manufacture. New loose seat cushions in an ivory dobby-weave cotton blend complete the look. Sold as a pair in very good vintage condition. Maker unknown.
