Bas-relief on a metal plaque. It depicts a scene from the mythological tale of Ganymede, the handsome Trojan prince abducted by Zeus (in the form of an eagle) to become cupbearer to the gods on Olympus. It is the work of the Turin engraver and medallist Giuseppe Ferraris, who worked at the Turin Mint, producing the coins of various rulers of the House of Savoy. The work is presented in a period frame. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
