The Met sofa, designed by Piero Lissoni in the 1990s and produced by Cassina in Italy, is a large piece of furniture.
The internal wooden frame is padded with high-density foam and fully upholstered in supple, thick, black full-grain leather. The lines are clean and architectural, with a wide, deep seat accentuated by solid armrests and a well-proportioned backrest. The sofa rests on cylindrical chrome-plated metal legs, lending a light and contemporary feel to its silhouette. The Met model embodies the minimalist and rigorous design vocabulary developed by Lissoni for Cassina from the mid-1990s onward.
