An antique 18th-century Italian bureau from Piedmont (northern Italy).
Its walnut structure features a "calatoia," the sloping upper surface that folds open to serve as a writing desk; a "scrabatolo," the internal compartment revealed by the opening of the calatoia, organized with small drawers and compartments for stationery; and two large drawers underneath.
A piece with simple lines that fits well in both modern and more classic settings.
It has not been restored but is in good overall condition. For a more pleasing wood appearance, we recommend re-polishing.
