Pair of wall lanterns (medium to large), crafted in a coppersmith's workshop between the 1920s and 1950s. Probably from the 1930s.
brass socket for up to 500 watts, 110 to 250 volts, stamped d.r.p. ~ "german reich patent".
fully functional - tested.
the coppersmith's trade died out in the 1970s; only a few workshops specializing in this craft remain in europe.
these two lanterns were created between the 1920s and 1950s, in the bauhaus tradition of combining art and craft.
forged and cast copper/copper bronze, dark, aged patina (reddish-brown).

these lanterns operate worldwide on 110 to 250 volts - they require two e27 bulbs. (usa e26)
