( Shagreen is traditionally the textured skin of sharks or sometimes dogfish BUT this desk is covered in an embossed leather designed to mimic the pebbled, pearl-like surface of actual shagreen.) The color is a pale celadon-gray and the finish is made to look like true shagreen with all the shaded variations actual shagreen would have. The desk is supported on four sinuous legs which taper into polished nickel cap feet. There is one drawer with a stepped Deco-style rectangular pull and the interior of the drawer is polished mahogany. The writing surface of the desk is of a magnificent mitred matched walnut that is bordered with polished nickel string inlay. The desk measure 54" wide x 30" deep x 29" high (the space from the floor to the base of the desk will give you
25 1/4" clearance for knee space.)
This is an extremely stylish writing table and would be the perfect sophisticated focus for a woman's office.
This piece was purchased new for display in our furniture showroom. It has never been used. the desk is in excellent condition. Any surface imperfections are consistent with its being on display in a fine furniture showroom. See less
