19th Century faux bamboo chest with marble top from France.
The top is decorated with hand-turned finials and a three sided gallery, which are all lined with marble and topped with hand turned faux bamboo molding made from cherry.
This follows down to a marble top over three drawers, all of which are banded with faux bamboo applied moldings and handles and flanked by faux bamboo turned columns in cherry. The case is made from pitch pine, and the turnings are all made from cherry. The top surface measures 32 inches in height.
