This beautiful antique carnival glass compote was produced by the Dugan Glass Company of Indiana, Pennsylvania, one of the most respected American carnival glass manufacturers of the early 20th century.
The piece features the highly desirable “Octopus & Shell” pattern, characterized by intricate swirling tentacle motifs and shell forms, highlighted by vibrant iridescent hues that shift between warm peach, gold, and subtle rainbow tones depending on the light.
The softly ruffled rim and elegant double handles add sculptural movement, while the opalescent edges create a delicate contrast against the rich carnival finish. The pedestal base elevates the bowl and makes it ideal as a centerpiece, candy dish, or decorative accent.
Dugan carnival glass is prized by collectors for its strong iridescence, distinctive molds, and refined forms. Pieces in this peach opalescent colorway are especially desirable.
A striking example of early American carnival glass that brings warmth and vintage charm to any collection or display.

The carnival surface retains strong iridescence and the piece presents beautifully. There is a tiny chip visible in the pedestal base, as shown in the photos. The superficial chip appears stable and does not affect display or structural integrity when handled normally. Minor age-appropriate wear consistent with antique carnival glass. less
