The “Sacred Lane” depicts a stylized crane with its red head. The natural grain texture of the woodblock is used to illustrate the background and body patterns. The red seal identifying the artist is shown on the lower left. Kawano was a key figure in the sōsaku hanga ("creative prints") movement that emphasized the artist's full involvement in designing, carving, and printing their own works. His prints frequently feature simplified forms of children and animals. The prints come from the Chrome and Teak personal collection. Dimensions: 22" H X 16" W X .75" D. The print is in good condition for its age and use. There is some minor paint loss to the frame. See less
