Artist: Guy Montpetit

Prominent Québec based Canadian Artist, well known for his many murals and public art projects in the 1970's. Over the century he has created a name for himself among the artist of his generation. He studied at the Fine Arts School of Montreal and did two years at the Atelier 17 in Paris. His style can be determined by the boldness of his color palette and his geometric lines. He has created numerous murals over the years, found all around the city of Montreal. They are composed of luminous panels incorporate bright colors and minimalist geometric forms.Guy also played a key role in creating the "1%" law for new builds to require 1% of the budget to be allocated to art, which largely contributes employment opportunities in the art industry to this day.

This exhibition poster is from "Série V, Le temps de vivre", works which were exhibited in the Canadian Cultural Center in Paris France in collaboration with La Galerie de Montréal.
