Antique Chinese Export Silk Painting of a Songbird on a Branch, early 20th century (circa 1900–1925).
Hand-painted ink and pigment on silk depicting a bird perched on a leafy branch with a red belly accent. The painting features traditional Chinese artist seals in red cinnabar ink in the lower corners.
Likely produced in Canton (Guangzhou) for export to Western markets during the late Qing / early Republic period. Works of this type were popular decorative pieces and are now appreciated for their elegant minimal compositions and soft aged patina.
Presented in a vintage gilt frame with fabric liner.
A beautiful piece for Chinoiserie, Hollywood Regency, or traditional interiors.
Condition: age-related toning to silk, light wear to frame consistent with age.
