This beautiful, antique ceramic biscuit barrel (cookie jar) with silverplate lid and handle is a delightful presentation of a practical purpose! Practical pieces need not be unattractive! Carlton Ware was a British pottery manufacturer established in Stoke-on-Trent in the 1890s. They specialized in decorative home pieces during the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
Today, these iconic objects of British home life can be used in the den, bedroom, or family room just as easily as in the kitchen. Enjoy the unexpected and beautiful! Great for hiding doggie or kitty treats, too!
