A 19th Century French Napoleon III marquetry box made of rosewood veneer with fine mother-of-pearl and brass inlay. The interior is lined in paper and the inside of the lid has a mirror framed by a fabric border. Working lock and small key. French polish finish. Exceptional craftsmanship, similar to the fine quality boxes made by Tajan. In very good condition with small restoration on back corner. Mirror is distressed with old silvered patina. Circa 1880-1900.
