A striking pair of 19th century English brass and cast iron andirons, beautifully crafted and rich with the quiet drama of traditional hearthside design. The form is anchored by robust cast iron supports, where the craftsmanship of the casting is immediately apparent—deeply detailed surfaces that subtly echo the powerful presence of a lion, a motif long associated with English heraldry and strength.
At the front, luminous brass spheres catch the light with a warm, mellow glow. Over the years the brass has developed a wonderfully soft patina, the surface gently burnished by time and firelight, adding depth and character to the piece.
Both sculptural and practical, these andirons would once have stood proudly in the hearth of an English home, supporting burning logs while reflecting the flicker of the flames. Hand selected in England and imported with care, they carry with them the enduring romance of the traditional English fireside.
