The warm antique gold finish retains its original water-gilded surface with characteristic red bole showing through at wear points — the hallmark of traditional Italian gold leaf craftsmanship over gesso ground, as opposed to later spray or paint finishes.

The arched mirror glass is framed by pierced and carved foliate ornament throughout, with the asymmetrical energy and organic movement characteristic of high Rococo Revival design.
